Windows 10 release is coming, what it means for CAMAvision

Windows 10 is scheduled for a full release on July 29th and developers in Vanguard’s VCS Department have already started testing early preview editions the last few months in preparation.

A variety of new features will be rolled out in Windows 10 including:

* Return of the Start Menu (a feature now included in Windows 8.1)
* Cortana (ask questions using text or voice command)
* Microsoft Edge (new browser replacing Internet Explorer)
* New Action Center notifications area
* Virtual desktops allowing you to move around faster

Microsoft revealed that any existing Windows 7 or 8 users will be given a free upgrade for the first year when the release goes public in a few weeks.

You may have noticed a Windows icon in the left corner of your desktop or laptop promoting this free upgrade. We advise you to speak with your IT staff before processing any operating system upgrade on your work computer.

Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 will continue to be supported for many years to come and Microsoft has provided enough time to let you decide if an operating system upgrade is necessary over the next year.

With the release of the full version only weeks away, our VCS Department will begin the process of doing some serious testing with CAMAvision in late July and will check in with any important information as it pertains to Windows 10.
